For as long as the tale of Atlantis has existed, humans have been fascinated by it. An advanced civilisation, eons ahead of those around it, suddenly disappearing beneath the waves. And while most agree that Atlantis has never existed, that hasn’t stopped a select few from trying to find it. And while we’re not ready to join the search ourselves, we’re willing to support them from the side-lines by playing this slot!
Like many other IGT games, Lost City suffers heavily from its age. The cartoony art style does help out a little bit, giving it a somewhat timeless look. But it doesn’t help that the icons were clearly drawn and designed for much smaller screens. The background image is also barely there! You see a little bit of the sea floor and the expansive depths, but there’s not much detail there. On the plus side, even an old release like this one shows off some cool animations here and there!
But, if you look past the somewhat outdated graphics, you’ll find a relatively interesting game beneath. Some elements will be immediately familiar, mind you. It’s the same 5x3 board you’re used to, but now, there’s 243 ways to win instead of boring old paylines! During free spins, all winnings are doubled, which is great for value, but doesn’t have much of an impact on gameplay. If you want something to shake up how you approach this release, you will have to trigger the Lost City special feature. Which will take you a measly 4500 bonus points. Unless you’re really lucky, it will take a while.
We really like the slightly adjusted IGT layout in Lost City. All the core elements are there, but it’s a lot more compact than its predecessors! Changing your total bet is also easier; but only because you don’t have to worry about turning paylines on or off. Otherwise, it works just the same as it might in Knights of Glory, or other IGT slots. You change your coin denominations and your credits per payline, and watch as your total bet is adjusted accordingly. Then, you can choose to stake between GBP 0.50 as a minimum and GBP 50 as a maximum.
And while they put some effort in giving us a slightly updated user interface, the developers continue keeping us in the dark about their games’ volatility and RTP. As much as we like IGT releases, this is a trend we hope other developers don’t follow suit. Without knowing the RTP, we have no idea if Lost City is fair to play. For all we know, it could be something really awful! Most other software providers offer this information, IGT. Trust us, this is one trend you totally want to get in on.

Collect two or three Scatters to win ten or twenty-five free spins, respectively. During free spins, all wins are doubled, which allows players to win the 1000x jackpot.
After collecting 4500 quest points, gamblers are taken to a pick and click bonus. You search one of the ancient pots on the seabed, and take the prize hidden within! It can be a shell, worth only 10 coins. Or, you can get lucky and snag a golden statue, which is worth 5000 coins!
Unless this slot actually uncovers Atlantis, we doubt it will catch anyone’s attention. Lost City is a good game by IGT’s standards. But compared to what other developers are putting out, it just lacks any real staying power. For starters, make the RTP information public! After that, IGT’s next focus should be to upgrade the visuals and offer some new free spins. This game was a step in the right direction, especially with its ways to win system. Here’s hoping the positive trend continues!
