Gameplay

Sadly, we can’t say that this game offers a very persuasive look into the occult. The symbol design the developers have picked is quite cool! You get to see tarot cards, horoscopes, voodoo dolls, crystal balls, witches. You name it, this release has it! The problem Mystic Fortune faces is with its age. The graphics are hopelessly outdated, to the point where they’ll drive away most players. There’s no background image, and the icons look a bit blurry if you try and play it at full screen.

Gameplay itself is somewhat better, but follows the IGT formula to the T. The slot is played on a 5x3 board, with 15 flexible paylines which pay left to right only. Gamblers have access to a free spins round, a chance at winning three different progressive jackpots, and a bonus round! It’s not bad, but it feels quite familiar to several other games by the same developer. There’s no unique gameplay here, we’re afraid to report. It’s the same release wearing a different costume.

Mystic Fortune Slots Real Money

The layout is also slightly outdated, but it still holds up quite nicely. Really, the only factor we’d change is how you change your total bet. Right now, you have to adjust three settings: coin denomination, credits per payline and active paylines. Ideally, you’d be able to combine credits per payline and coin denomination into one. Honestly, we’d even be willing to accept fixed paylines, as turning paylines off is always a net negative. As it currently stands, you can stake between GBP 0.01 and GBP 150 per spin.

If you want to be eligible to score one of the three progressive jackpots, you have to play with 10 credits per payline. Assuming you also have all paylines active (which you should), that’s GBP 1.50 you spend every time you spin. Not a huge amount, but certainly not small either! If we had any information about Mystic Fortune’s volatility and RTP, we’d be more willing to meet it halfway. But without that information, chasing after progressive jackpots becomes a very dangerous affair for our wallets!

Bonus Rounds

Once you’ve accumulated 750 bonus points, the bonus is played! You’ll pick face-down cards, revealing their symbols and earning cash prizes! This keeps going until the player hits the Stop icon, at which point the special feature ends.

Collect three, four or five Scatters to win ten, twenty-five or fifty free spins, respectively.

If you aren’t qualified for the progressive jackpot, collect three, four or five jackpot symbols will grant you 100, 1000 or 10,000 credits. However, if you bet enough and are eligible, the prize structure changes. Three, four or five jackpot icons instead grant the jackpot, super jackpot or grand jackpot, respectively.

Summary

Nobody will claim that IGT ever made the best looking slots, because they didn’t. But they can do a whole lot better than Mystic Fortune! Certainly, some of the bad visuals are due to its old age. But even back then, there were ways it could have been improved. We wouldn’t mind the graphics, but the gameplay is somewhat dull. If you’ve played any of IGT’s previous games, it will immediately feel familiar. All the ingredients are there, after all. The final nail in this release’s coffin was the absence of any RTP information. Do yourself a favour, dear reader, and skip this one.
