There’s a reason most developers stay away from sequels unless they’re absolutely confident in their skills. Which begs the question: has Pragmatic Play created a worthy sequel to their iconic slot?

Gameplay

Graphical improvements have purposefully been kept rather minimalistic. But put them all together, and the experience is drastically improved! The background image is now a swankier room. All symbols will now perform small idle animations when the reels aren’t spinning. The cats will blink, while the diamonds within the playing card royals will glimmer. The last one might just be us imagining things, but even the animation for the reels spinning feels smoother. A fantastic improvement, overall!

You play this game on a 5x3 board with 30 fixed paylines, which pay both left to right and right to left. Available special features will seem familiar in some aspects, and radically different in others. For example, the random Stacked Wilds still make an appearance, and be quite lucrative. That said, Pragmatic Play’s release has seen its free spins round adjusted. The multiplier has disappeared, but in its place, more stacked Wilds will be awarded during free spins.

The Catfather Part II Real Money

Any gambler worth his salt knows how to properly set their wager. And while it may seem a little bit complicated at first, that’s just how the developers designed it. You can set your stake by just clicking the plus and minus keys, pausing when you reach a wager you like. The Catfather Part II has a low volatility, much like its predecessor. You can tell there was a concentrated effort to keep things the same way as they used to be. But while the variance mostly stayed the same, the math behind this slot has been adjusted. The new paytable now means that a full reel of Wilds will earn you 5000x your total stake! The larger jackpot comes at the price of the old, amazing RTP. Instead of the original Catfather’s 98.10%, the sequel has an RTP of 96.07%.

In this game, wins are awarded both left to right and right to left, rather than just left to right like in most other releases.

Randomly, stacked Wilds will appear on the second, third and fourth reel. These Wilds will expand to cover the entirety of their reel! Best of all, these expanded Wilds can substitute for all symbols, including Scatters! We feel like Pragmatic Play played it safe with The Catfather Part II. And while we can’t say we’re thrilled with that, we like it better than the developer radically changing the slot.
