Tokidoki Lucky Town is an online slot developed by IGT, inspired by the Japanese brand of Tokidoki cartoons similar to Hello Kitty. It is a world populated with cute and quirky Japanese-style characters that have found their place on everything from clothes to shoes and accessories.

Although invented by an Italian designer in the US, the Tokidoki world is presented like a reflection of kids' cartoons from Japan.

IGT has borrowed the cute little critters and made them townsfolk of Tokidoki Lucky Town, a 5-reel, 40-line vibrant virtual slot machine. Clearly, Tokidoki Lucky Town is meant to attract the younger generations of online gamblers (who are, of course, of legal age for gambling in their jurisdictions), with the charm and happy-go-lucky vibe from unique Tokidoki characters.

Main Review

In Tokidoki Lucky Town everything is colourful, drawn in a certain urban style of paint markers and graffiti. Take one look at the paytable and get to know your Tokidoki friends: three lovely little creatures dressed in costumes of a squirrel, cactus and cow will give you lower payouts.

A unicorn will give you a considerably bigger payouts, whereas the symbol made of a hart and crossbones will give you the highest payout for five of a kind and will act as Wild. Moofia, Unicorno, Punk Star, Donutella - the names are simply hilarious! Some of the symbols can’t be replaced by the Wild, including the spinning vinyl disc. These symbols are referred to as the ‘revealing symbols’, but more about them below. There is also a 2x Wild icon which appears only one the middle reel and doubles your payout if it forms part of a winning combo.

There are 5 reels and 3 rows of symbols in the game, with 40 fixed paying lines. You can adjust the coin value and set the total bet. Autoplay and Gamble features aren’t offered. There’s nothing out of the ordinary as far as payout mechanism goes; line wins are multiplied by coin value and are paid from left to right, as usual.

These aren’t ordinary spins: on each spin the reels move one place to left. Each movement will reveal a new character and start off their corresponding feature. On first move Caramella appears; she is a Wild and can turn up to three more symbols into Wilds.

After the third move you’ll meet Pogo who is also Wild and has the capability of turning the two positions to his left into Wilds. Finally, on fifth move the Symbol Upgrade feature is triggered an all matching character symbols on the reel grid turn into Wilds.
