With astrology related symbols and reels placed against the star-scattered night sky background, Zodiac is a pretty conventional game; the character bearing a strong resemblance to Nostradamus, followed by the Prophetess, Telescope, and Globe. The 12 Signs of Zodiac, Scroll, and The Book are the special symbols (Wilds and Scatters)

Do not go too wild with your expectations (bonus-wise) when you come across this EGT slot. Despite the theme that's oozing with potential, Zodiac Wheel is a pretty basic game that does not offer any of the special features which a more imaginative player would anticipate.

Zodiac Wheel has a standard layout, with 5 reels, 5 rows, and only 5 fixed paylines. The long-term play produces the return to the player percentage of 96.45%, with low to medium volatility. The bets are selected manually and the player can stake 5, 10, 25, 50 or 100 coins across all paylines on a single spin.

If you would like to increase the spin speed, the Main Spin/AutoPlay button is placed in the left corner, at the bottom of the game screen. So, basically, you will be using the same button for initiating base and Auto spins and for stopping the auto-play to return to the regular mode.

Bonus rounds and special features

Although the slot comes with 2 Scatters - The Book and The Scroll - the symbols are not actually triggering any bonuses, which will probably come as a major disappointment to a lot of players. Instead, the Scatters will produce payouts in combinations of 3 (Scroll) or 3, 4, and 5 (Book). The Scroll lands only on reels 1, 3 and 5 and carries x100 to x2000 credit value, depending on the betting level, while The Book can generate 10,000 coins when 5 matching icons land on the reels. The Zodiac Wild icon can replace all other symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4 except for the Scatters.

Every time a winning combination is formed, the player will have the option of playing a card game for a chance of doubling the winnings. The Gamble Feature can be used up to 5 times and the object of the game is to guess the colour of the card facing down.

Apart from the standard payout, Zodiac Wheel also comes with a Jackpot Card bonus, which can be randomly activated on any betting level. The player will then be transferred to the screen with 12 cards facing down and the first three matching suits will determine the level of the Jackpot added to the balance.

While an extra Scatter, Mystery Jackpots, and the Gamble Feature are definitely great to have around, the lack of virtually any special bonus is not a gap that's easy to fill. Players who are profit-oriented might not be overly concerned about it, but if you like your Free Spins every now and then, Zodiac Wheel will definitely not make the grade.

Zodiac Wheel is quite replaceable and a number of other EGT releases could easily take its place – this is not the only slot with Mystery Jackpots and Double Up feature, which means that you can have all that and more if you just take the time to browse through other titles by the same developer. The RTP is definitely not bad and the payout potential on pressed bets can be massive, but, again, other slots with bonus features can provide the same benefits.
