Hot Slot is a Barcrest video slot released in 2016, offering gamblers five slot games with 5x3 playing fields and 10 fixed paylines. The graphics are relatively simple, with a static background that slightly resembles Tron from a distance, with its black and white tile floor and coloured lights behind the reels themselves. The colour of those lights changes depending on which of the five slots you have selected, as does the outer ring of the reels. The user interface is a standard Barcrest interface, which cleanly relates all needed information to the player except for where the settings are.

Symbols include several fruit symbols like cherries, oranges, lemons and watermelons, alongside bells, double lucky sevens in red and blue, bar symbols in blue or purple, and double sevens in gold as the highest paying symbol. Black letters with a golden trim spelling out Wild, surrounded by blue lights, is the slot’s Wild. There is no Scatter symbol.

Gameplay and Features

The game’s sole special feature is the Hot Slot. All five games spin together, and their result is clearly visible at the top of the screen. This is where you can also switch between different slots. Each game has its own colour – blue, purple, yellow, green and red. One of those five is randomly selected by the game to be the Hot Slot, which has over 100% RTP for its duration.

The duration lasts until the cooldown at the top of the screen expires, or players let curiosity get the better of them, and press the Reveal Slot button, which shows exactly which one is the Hot Slot, but as a result, also resets its position to be somewhere else. The slight skill factor comes in trying to determine which one of these slots is actually the Hot Slot.

These differently coloured slots are also ranked according to accumulated wins over a single cooldown period, although #1 rank does not indicate it being a hot slot by itself, but it is helpful to track the slots that are winning plenty.

Big Bet allows you to wager more, but cuts down on the amount of slots you need to track down. Betting $10 per spin in Big Bet means you only need to keep an eye out for three slots, while $15 per spin in Big Bet cuts down that down two slots. The one disadvantage of Big Bet is that players can’t change slots until the five spins are finished.

The largest jackpot you can win is 250x your wager for a five-of-a-kind golden lucky seven score. We were unable to find information regarding the game’s volatility, which is information only the slot developers themselves can provide. The RTP is 95%, which is average for video slots.
