Jewel in the Crown Slot Machine

Jewel in the Crown is a Barcrest video slot released in 2016, offering gamblers a 5x3 playing field with 10+3 fixed paylines. Players can wager between $0.10 up to $500 per spin, and bets above a certain threshold change the way pays are handled – instead of being forced to go left to right, wins simply need to be adjacent, allowing you connect scores in the middle of the reels. Jewel in the Crown is a rather quite literal interpretation of the game. The reels are decked in a royal purple with a light golden trim along its edges, and the backdrop consists of a static picture of a rich, red fabric on top of which the reels rest. On top of the reels are also two crown shapes – a blue crown and a red crown, which house symbols within them that are later used during the special features of this title. The user interface is the standard one Barcrest uses, so players will have no trouble finding exactly what they’re looking for.

Symbols include a mixture of playing card icons 10, J, Q, K and A, as well as several prized gemstones with unique artwork – you will find emeralds, rubies and aquamarines. The Wild symbol is a light blue and gold square with the word Wild written on it, while a richly decorated red and gold crown acts as a Scatter.

Gameplay and Features

Collecting three or more Scatters rewards players with ten free spins. If you collect additional Scatters in the second, third and fourth reel after activating the feature, you can add one, three or eight free spins by collect one, two or three Scatters at the same time, respectively. While free spins are active, the symbol depicted in the blue crown on top of the reel becomes Wild, while the icon in the red crown become super stacked. If the symbol is the same, then both of those bonuses combined and you get super stacked Wilds.

During Big Bet, players are given access to some unique bonuses. The first one, available for all three Big Bet spins, gives you five linked spins with Crowning Glory Trail, in which every crown that appears on the reels adds to the meter. Reaching the fifth position will reward one bonus spin with the trail being held, and on the sixth and final position, it rewards eight free spins, which resets the trail. The super version of this feature grants eight free spins on the fifth position, and sixteen free spins on the sixth position. Finally, for Big Bets that are $30 and $50, you also get Jewel Stacks, which ensured the stacked symbol will be one of the better paying jewel symbols.
