Magic Seven Slot Machine

The Magic 7 slot machine is a classic 5-reel game, based on Frankie Detori, the famous horse racing jockey. The game is made by Playtech and is quite popular in the UK. For players in the USA and Canada might find the game a little simple in style, but it is still worth playing if you are a fan of the horses.

Magic Seven by Zeus is a typical representative of a Liberty Bell offspring, providing the players with the textbook slot machine in its purest form; everything that was lost during the evolution of slots has made a glorious comeback with Magic Seven, from the slot's traditional fruit symbols to the background music in the back, which couldn't be more retro.

The style may not suit the new generation of players, but the point of these slots is to preserve the very essence of fruit machines– the old spin-and-win system and no more than that. And, while the new slots of today have broken every single barrier of innovation, and even slipped into the realms of Virtual Reality, they seem to be losing the link with the old school Bells and 7s slots. Fortunately, there are still nostalgic developers out there who are determined to keep the retro spirit alive.

Magic Seven has a typical 5-reel and 20-payline structure. The lines are fixed and the players will always wager across all 20 of them – what can be changed is the coin value and the line bet. The coin size starts at $0.01 and the players can bet a single coin per line or increase the bet to 15 coins per payline. With $0.5 coin size, the bet comes up to $150 on a single spin. All symbols - except for the Cherries - become payable in the combination of 3 (the Cherries will generate a payment even if just two of these icons land on adjacent reels), and the slot is expected to return around 94% in the long run.

Auto Play option is available, but unlike most of the slots that introduce continuous play mode, auto feature in Magic Seven has no advanced settings or pre-set spin session. To start auto spins, the players will just need to click on the relevant tab placed in the left corner, at the bottom of the game screen.

Magic Seven bonus rounds and special features

Slots like this are usually not packed with bonus features, and Magic Seven is definitely not the one to digress from the rule. There are no Free Spins and multipliers and the greatest thrill will come from those magic 7s lining up – the string of five 7s will produce 75,000 coins, and if you are fortunate enough to cover the entire screen with these icons, the total payout will come up to 1,500,000 coins.

Of course, the lack of bonus rounds does not mean that there are no features which would break the routine of Magic Seven. The game does come with a Gamble option which can be used after every single winning combination to double the won amount. If you decide to risk your winnings, all you need to do is select the Gamble option instead of Collect and guess the colour of the card facing down up to five times in a row. An incorrect guess will take you back to the base game screen – until the next time you decide to gamble.

The return to the player percentage is pretty low – only 94 %, which, considering the potential total payout of 1,500,000 was to be expected.

With the Gamble feature and the payouts that Magic Seven can generate on pressed bets, the slot may be more suitable for those who do not have to worry about their budget, although the minimum bet of $0.20 will not place the game outside the reach of an average player.

The lack of bonus features cannot be considered as a drawback in this case since the traditional fruit machine theme often skips through that part and simply goes for the Gamble option.

The simplicity of Magic Seven will not appeal to all the players and some will find that the slot is too linear to provide an engaging gameplay. To appreciate it, you will have to be a fan of the conventional slot machines, in which case Magic Seven is pretty much everything you are looking for – big-time potential payout and an old-fashioned experience.

The beauty of the game is the simplicity and the way it keeps you entertained with it's terrific game play. A very good version of a classic that many players will love
