We found the graphics to be quite nice. The backdrop is that of a gorgeous night sky littered with stars and the aurora borealis, while above the reels themselves sits a large, silvery moon, slightly obscured by the slot’s title sitting on top of it. Beneath the reels, various, detailed plantlife has grown, and you can see some vegetation to the side of the reels, as well. The reels themselves have a purple background with a gentle yellow border between itself and the background image. The user interface is rather clean and easy to navigate, with the exception of the options button which can be hard to find.

Symbols include generic playing card symbols which you can find in some other titles like A, K and Q, alongside icons that have more unique artwork that fit the theme of this particular game, such as a blooming, green flower that glows in the dark, a howling wolf with a bloody mouth, and an owl with a rather intense stare. The game’s Wild is a large, red orb, with the word Wild scrawled on top of it, while its Scatter is a beautiful, pale woman who seems to be holding the large moon in her hands.

Gameplay and Features

Moon Shadow’s sole special feature is the free spins, which are activated by collecting three Scatters symbols at the same time on the first, third and fifth reel. Doing this rewards ten free spins, with the potential of winning more extra turns if a Scatter lands on the fifth reel while the bonus is active. If that happens, you can win anywhere between four to eight more free spins, which are added to the existing total of free spins. When the feature begins, one icon is randomly selected to be the Wild for the duration of the bonus. Wilds do not occur during normal gameplay, and instead, are limited only during the free spins bonus round.

Big Bet spins allow players to play five linked spins for £10 or £20. The incentive for using Big Bet is that playing that way, Barcrest entices you by adding ten more paylines, so you have 20 paylines total instead of 10 during normal gameplay, which increases your RTP.
