Las Vegas Casino Games

When I visit a Las Vegas casino, the games I am most interested in playing, are always the slots. But like most slot fans, I also enjoy playing video poker and table games, too. Plus the odd bit of keno, once in a while.

Because of that, I have included quite a few free video poker, keno and table games, so if you fancy playing some of the other famous Las Vegas games, you can :)

Like all the slots, the games on this page are all free to play in your browser. There is no need to download any software, no registration, we never ask for your no email address.

For a slot fan like me, playing table games make a nice change because you feel a bit more involved. When you play a table game, you are not simply watching reels spin, taking part with other people. For me, it really depends on what sort of mood I'm in, so mostly it's slots, but sometimes the table.

Table Games

Table games are a massively important part of the Las Vegas casino floor. It's often said by slot fans that a casino without table games, just doesn't have the same atmosphere as one that has them. That people interaction, the shouts of joy and the tension create an electric buzz of excitement.

It works the other way around, if you've ever been to a casino with only table games and no slots, they are not the same, either. The sound of the games in the background, the lights, the odd jackpot hitting and also, the huge excitement you get when a player is winning big. They complement each other, and make a casino great.

Blackjack

For most players, blackjack is probably the one we know the best. When I was a kid, we used to play it as a family game, and call it 21, or pontoon. We loved it! The rules are pretty simple to pick up quickly, but there is a lot of skill involved. To get the best chance of winning long-term, you need to be able to play a 'perfect' game. You are constantly making small decisions that genuinely make difference regarding your chances of winning - hit, stand, double or split.

That element of skill is involved in pretty much all table games, as well as video poker. The only non-slot game that is pur chance, is probably keno. But all the classic green table games involve some sort of tactics to get the best odds. With slots, it is all about luck - you just hit the spin button and enjoy.

Roulette

Many people think roulette doesn't involve any skill or tactics, but that's not quite true. That sadi, it is the game that is easiest to learn, of them all, and the easiest to learn the tactics to get maximum chances of winning. The big thing is never place two or more bets on the table that you can't win at the same time. So if you bet on a red number, like 1, 3, 5 etc, it's better not to bet at the same time, for it to fall on black. That's because you can't win both bets. But if you did one bet one one spin, and the other on the next, you could then win on both. if that makes sense, lol :)

The big attraction of the game is the wheel itself, the build-up, and the fact that everyone around the table is watching at the same time. It's definitely one of my favorite games.

Baccarat

Baccarat is another classic Vegas game. It can look bit a bit formal when you first see it in a casino, especially in the high-limit rooms. They ay the rules are actually very straightforward, but I have to confess I haven't played it!

All I know is that you are usually just choosing between Player, Banker or Tie. Sitting here, writing this, I think I will play one of the free games I have added to the site recently, and very soon. I need to get to know this game, as people love it, so there must be a lot of fun to be had.

Poker Based Table Games

Then there are poker-based table games and other casino variations that sit somewhere between a traditional card game and a house game. These can be particularly enjoyable if you like cards but do not want the pressure of playing poker against other people.

Video Poker

Out of all the non-slot games on the floor, video poker is the most popular one with slot fans

That's probably because it's the same playing format, in that you sit at a machine and press the buttons. But, unlike slots, you really need to know the best way to play to mazmize your chances, and that is not easy, because all the different variants have slightly different tactics. There are entire websites and books written about the tactics for all the different versions of video poker.

When I play, I tend to just rely on my intuition and I now i wil lose more quickly, but am playing just for fun. It drives proper video poker fans mad to see a player like me on the machine, but the main thing is to have fun, right?

Jacks or Better is one of the most well known versions, although there are plenty of others, including Deuces Wild, Joker Poker, and Bonus Poker. A lot of players like to play more than one hand at once. This is called multi-hand or multi-draw poker. And sometimes they have a name based on how many hands, like 5 hand poker. We have those variants here, and they are the same genuine game you get in Vegas!

Keno

Keno is one of the oldest casino games that you can find in Las Vegas, and it has a completely different pace from almost all the other games on the floor. Interestingly, you can play at a machine on the slot floor, or you can play in cafes, and bars, and specialized keno halls. You can even play keno whilst eating a meal in many Vegas casinos!

In keno, you choose numbers on a card (or a virtual card on the machine) from a large grid, usually from 1 to 80, and then watch to see which numbers are drawn. A bit like bingo balls being drawn.

That is pretty much the game, but it can get really exciting when you are just one number away from winning big. There is no complicated strategy and no need to react quickly. It has more in common with a lottery draw than blackjack or poker.

Traditional (old style) casino keno used to be very slow and social, with players filling out tickets and waiting for the next draw. However, the more video keno is much quicker, but it still keeps that simple numbers-based format. Again, this is a bit like bingo, where in some places numbers are called very slowly, but in other, really rapid.

Different people prefer different styles

Different games suit different people and different games can suit your mood

Sometimes when I am in the casino, I want to play something completely easy, that doesn't take a whole lot of thought. For me, this is actually most of the time, to be fair. An this is where slots are perfect.

At other times, I want to be social, and so I will play blackjack. Roulette or craps if I want to be really social

Video poker is kind of an in between. You can play on your own and not social at all, sitting at a machine, but at the same time, needing to think a bit (a lot) more about tactics.

Not every game in the casino appeals to everyone, which in many ways is what makes it so great. It means we get all sorts of people in the same place, which is exactly what we love. But if you are like me, and normally play slots, it is worth spending a bit of time with some of the other classic Las Vegas games. You might find one that becomes a new favourite in its own right.
